Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Inspiring Quotes from Books

Buongiorno amici lettori!

“I've always found that the most beautiful people, truly beautiful inside and out, are the ones who are quietly unaware of their effect." His eyes searched mine intently, and for a moment we stood there toe to toe. "The ones who throw their beauty around, waste what they have? Their beauty is only passing. It's just a shell hiding nothing but shadows and emptiness.”  (Jennifer L. Armentrout, Obsidian)

“I learned that there is good in this world, if you look hard enough for it. I learned that not everyone is disappointing, including me, and that a 1,257 bump in the ground can feel higher than a bell tower if you’re standing next to the right person.” (Jennifer Niven, All the Bright Places)

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” (Eleanor Roosevelt, This is My Story)

“We accept the love we think we deserve.” (Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower)

“We live and breathe words. .... It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt--I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted--and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.” (Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince)

“What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again.”  (Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay)

“True beauty, the kind that doesn't fade or wash off, takes time. It takes incredible endurance. It is the slow drip that creates the stalactite, the shaking of the Earth that creates mountains, the constant pounding of the waves that breaks up the rocks and smooths the rough edges. And from the violence, the furor, the raging of the winds, the roaring of the waters, something better emerges, something that would have otherwise never existed.
And so we endure. We have faith that there is purpose. We hope for things we can't see. We believe there are lessons in loss, power in love, and that we have within us the potential for a beauty so magnificent, our bodies can't contain it.” (Amy Harmon, Making Faces)

“Question everything. Your love, your religion, your passion. If you don't have questions, you'll never find answers.” (Colleen Hoover, Slammed)

“Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” (Martin Luther King Jr.)

“Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.” (Veronica Roth, Divergent)

Che ne pensate? Condividete le mie scelte? Cosa avreste messo voi? :)

A presto,
Silvy

Io avrei messo "Hope strengthens.
